After our Sclater Street paint with Sepr and Neil Ennui we all headed to Rockwell House for the ‘Give Crohns A Slap From Me’ Crohns awareness night.
The night was part of the GCASFM project which features loads of awesome artists including Flying Fortress, Frau Isa, Mr Penfold, Blam, and Numskull.
I have blogged about the project before as it was the reason I made into the pages of Amateur magazine issue 14.
Check out the project on Facebook here
The concept was created by street art journalist and chef Matt Strutt who has been suffering with the disease for over 22 years. Crohn’s disease affects over 90,000 people in the uk and the numbers of young people affected by the disease is on the rise. Out of those numbers, around only 20% are diagnosed and treated. With that in mind, Matt decided to raise awareness through the contacts he has built up in the street art scene and asked over 70 artists worldwide to design stickers (slaps) for the charity that will be placed in a book and sent for print.
The project is fundraising in aid of Crohn’s & Colitis uK. They set themselves the target of £10k built up from donations, stickers and T-shirts, an exhibition next Spring with an auction of the original pieces along with the book. So far they have raised £1400, feel free to donate to this great cause either via Text GCAS99 + £amount to 70070 or online at www.justgiving.com/matthew-strutt.
Artists painting at the event were Jim Vision, Zadok, Sepr, Neil Ennui, Dirty30, Squirl, Bob Motown, Saki&Bitches, Captain Kris, Ronzo, Si Mitchell, SPZero76, and an unexpected visit by Mr Penfold.
Music was provided by Dusty Ohms and very special guest Reeps One!
And to top it off the event had a free entry all night.

As usual I didn’t get enough photos but if you have a look at the End of the Line blog you can see a few more action shots which I missed.
